Indian Air Force: Group Y trade
Indian Air Force Group Y Exam is conducted for technical trade vacancies of Communication and Automobile assistant and non-technical trade vacancies. Candidates selected on the basis of merit through this written test will be deployed for Joint Basic Phase Training (JBPT) at Basic Training Institute Belgaum (Karnataka) for a period of 12 weeks. Basic combat training is imparted to all candidates during basic training. After basic training candidates are given training in a particular skill.

Indian Air Force: Airmen in Group X (Technical) trade
Indian Air Force invites application from Unmarried Male Indian Citizens (citizens of Nepal are also eligible) for selection test to join as Airmen in Group ‘X’ (Technical) trades.
Qualification:
(a) Candidate should have passed Intermediate or 10+2 or Equivalent Examination with Mathematics, Physics, and English with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in english.
OR
(b) Candidate should have passed a Three-year Diploma course in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical or Electronics or Automobile or Computer Science or Instrumentation Technology or Information Technology) with at least 50% marks in overall aggregate from a Government recognized Polytechnic Institute.
10+2 / समकक्ष परीक्षा पास, जिसमें गणित, भौतिकी और अंग्रेजी विषय में न्युनतम 50 प्रतिशत अंक अनिर्वाय और अंग्रेजी विषय में 50 प्रतिशत अंक ‘अथवा’ 3 वर्षों का डिप्लोमा कोर्स 50 प्रतिशत अंकों के साथ सरकार से मान्य प्राप्त पोलीटेक्निक संस्थान से उर्तीण और 50 प्रतिशत अंक अंग्रेजी में डिप्लोमा /10वीं में अनिवार्य ।
Medical Standards:
(a) General Medical Standards for Group ‘X’ (Technical) trades is as follows:
(i) Height: Minimum acceptable height is 152.5cms.
(ii) Chest: Minimum range of expansion: 5 cm
(iii) Weight: Proportionate to height and age.
(iv) Corneal Surgery (PRK/LASIK) not acceptable
(v) Hearing: Candidate should have normal hearing i.e. able to hear forced whisper from a distance of 6 meters with each ear separately.
(vi)Dental: Should have healthy gums, a good set of teeth and a minimum 14 dental points.
(vii) Health: Candidate should be free from the medical or surgical deformity. He should be free from all communicable diseases and skin ailments. Candidate must be physically and mentally FIT to perform duty in any part of the world, in any climate and terrain.
(b) Visual Standards for Group ‘X’ (Technical) trades is as follows:

(ii) Visual Acuity: 6/36 each eye correctable to 6/9 each eye. Full field of vision
(iii) Maximum limits of Ref Error: Hypermetropia +3.5D Myopia -3.5D including Astigmatism
(iv) Colour Vision: CP-II/III
(v) Leg Length: N/A
(vi) Trades: [For Electronic Fit, Electrical Fit, Weapon Fit, *Automobile Fit, *Mechanical System Fit]
(vii) Visual Acuity: 6/12 each eye correctable to 6/6 each eye. Full field of vision
(viii) Maximum limits of Ref Error: Hypermetropia +2.0D Myopia -1D including +0.5D Astigmatism
(ix) Colour Vision: CP-II
(x) Leg Length: *Minimum leg length required 99cms
Written Test:
Eligible candidates will be sent Admit Cards to appear for the test scheduled to be held during Exam at the examination center’s listed at Para 19. Candidates will be tested in English, Physics, and Mathematics as per CBSE syllabus of AISSCE. Question papers will be objective type and bilingual (English & Hindi), except English Paper. Duration of the Written Test will be 60 minutes. Candidates Are To Qualify In Each Paper Separately. Results of the written test will be declared on the same day
