Eligibility Criteria For Recruitment of JCOs and Other Ranks

Written Examination

Common Entrance Examination (CEE) is conducted on last Sundays of each month for recruitment of Soldiers.
It comprises of the following two papers :

(a) Paper-I – Compulsory for all soldier categories
(b) Paper-II – For Sol. Technical, Sol. ClK (GD/SKT) and Sol. Nursing Assistant.

PAPER-I It generally comprises of questions on IQ/Numerical ability general knowledge and current affairs. Duration of papers is 60 minutes. Total marks 100 Pass Marks 32.

PAPER-II Paper II (Sol Tech) – 50 marks. It generally comprises of Physics, Chemistry and Maths. Duration – 30minutes, Pass marks-16.

Paper-II (Sol ClK/SKT) – 50 marks. It generally comprises of Maths & English (Language Proficiency) Duration – 30 minutes, Pass Marks-16.

Paper-II (Sol Nursing Assistant) – 50 marks. It generally comprises of Chemistry, Botany & Biology, Duration – 30 minutes, Pass marks-16.

Note : In addition to paper I, a Sol Tech, Sol Clk/SKT and Sol Nursing Assistant has to qualify in his respective paper NCC “C” Certificate holders seeking enrollment for Sol (GD) are exempted from appearing in written examination but have to fulfill other laid down criteria.

A candidate should have robust physique and good mental health. The chest should be well developed having minimum 5 Cms expansion. Should have normal hearing with each ear and good binocular vision in both eyes. He should be able to read 6/6 in a distant vision chart with each eye. Colour vision should be CP-III. Should recognize red and green colors. Should have a sufficient number of natural healthy gum and teeth i.e. minimum 14 dental points. Should not have diseases like deformity of bones, hydrocele and varicocle or piles

To determine the Physical Fitness, the following tests carrying 100 marks are held:-

(a)1 Mile Run

(d)9 Feet Ditch

The marking system is as follows:-

(a) 1 MILE RUN

(i) 5.40 Mins and below 60 Mks
(ii) 5.41 Mins to 5.50&bsp;48 Mks
(iii) 5.51 Mins to 6 .0536 Mks
(iv) 6.06 Mins to 6.20 24 Mks

(b) PULL-UPS

(i) 10 and above 40 Mks
(ii) 9 33 Mks
(iii) 8 27 Mks
(iv) 7 21 Mks
(v) 6 16 Mks

(c) BALANCE:  Should be qualified and no marks are awarded.

(d) 9 Feet Ditch: Should be qualified and no marks are awarded.

17 ½ – 21 Yrs
(2) Soldier (Technical)(Technical Arms, Artillery, Army Air Defence) 10+2 / Intermediate Exam Pass in Science with Physics, Chemistry, Maths, and English with 50% marks in aggregate and 40% in each subject. (simple pass in 10+2 with requisite subjects is acceptable up to 31 Mar 2013).

10+2/समकक्ष परीक्षा पास, जिसमें भौतिकी, रसायन विज्ञान, गणित व अंग्रेजी विषय में 50 प्रतिशत कुल और 40 प्रतिशत प्रत्येक विषय में अंक प्राप्त किये हो।

17 ½ – 23 Yrs
(3) Soldier Clerk / Store Keeper Technical(All Arms) 10+2 / Intermediate Exam pass in any stream (Arts, Commerce, Science) with 60% marks in aggregate and minimum 50% in each subject.

10+2 में 60 प्रतिशत, प्रत्येक विषय में 50 प्रतिशत अंक अनिवार्य ।

Should have studied and passed English and Maths/Accts/Book Keeping in Cl X or Cl XII with 50% marks in each subject. In case of graduate with Maths and English as a subject in BSc, the stipulation of 50% in Cl X or Cl XII is waived off. In case of a graduate without English and Maths/Accts/Book Keeping, he should have scored more than 40% in English and Maths/Accts/Book Keeping at least once in Cl X or Cl XII.

10+2 में अंग्रेजी व गणित / अकाउंटेंसी / बुक कीपिंग विषय पढ़े हो और प्रत्येक विषय में 50 प्रतिशत अंक प्राप्त किये हो, चाहे वह कक्षा 10 हो या कक्षा 12 हो।

17 ½ – 23 Yrs
(4) Soldier Nursing Assistant(Army Medical Corps)

10+2/Intermediate exam pass in Science with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English with Min 50% marks in aggregate and min 40% in each subject. or in case the candidate has a BSc Degree with (Botany/Zoology/Bio-Science) and English, the stipulation of percentage in Cl-XII is waived off. However, the candidate should have studied all the four specified subjects in Cl XII also.

10+2 / समकक्ष परीक्षा पास, जिसमें भौतिकी, रसायन विज्ञान, जीव विज्ञान और अंग्रेजी विषय में 50 प्रतिशत कुल और 40 प्रतिशत प्रत्येक विषय में अंक प्राप्त किये हो अथवा अगर बी.एस.सी. डिग्री (बनस्सति शास्त्र, जीव विज्ञान, जन्तु विज्ञान) और अंग्रेजी विषय से किया हो तो 12वीं कक्षा के वांछित प्रतिशत की। आवश्यकतानहीं है परन्तु ऊपर लिखे हुए सभी विषय कक्षा 12 में पढ़ हो ।

(7) Surveyor Auto Carto(Engineers) BA/BSc with Maths. Must have also passed 12th class(10+2) or equivalent with Maths and Science as main subjects. 20-25 Yrs
(8) Junior Commissioned OfficerReligious Teacher(All Arms) Graduate in any discipline. In addition requisite qualification in his own religious denomination. 27-34 Yrs
(9) Junior Commissioned Officer Catering(Army Service Corps) 10+2 or equivalent exam and Diploma/Certificate Course of a duration of one year or more in Cookery/Hotel Management and Catering Tech from a recognized University / Food Craft Institute. AICTE recognition is not mandatory. 21-27 Yrs
(10) Havildar Education(Army Education Corps) Group X – MA/MSc/MCA or BA/BSc/BCA/B Sc (IT) with B EdGroup Y – BSc/BA/BCA/B Sc (IT) (w/o B Ed.) 20-25 Yrs

3. The following categories will be permitted relaxations in physical standards as mentioned against each:- ­
